Why are you passionate about your business?

It provides me with the time and freedom to be with my family. I enjoy working for myself. But there are struggles that come with that like funding. To overcome the funding you just have to figure it out and know how to make your next move.

What are you most proud of in regards to your business thus far?

That it’s actually coming to life! At first it was just an idea, then I got my equipment, then I got my clients. I just went in and introduced myself and now I have contracts! We do 3 year terms. We come out and clean every 6 months in locations like hotels and restaurants.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far as an entrepreneur?

Don’t mix business with pleasure and be very careful who you hire. The friends I hired and gave a chance to took advantage and didn’t take it serious. I wasted more money rather than hiring someone I didn’t know

What advice would you give to someone currently in prison who would like to do something positive with their life when they get home?

It ain’t nothing to it, but to do it. Everyone says this and that, what they are going to do when they get out. You have to take a leap of faith. A lot of these guys that get out are not even trying. When you get out you have to try. I’ve been out 3 years. I have a long way to go, but I’ve come a long way too.

Outside of your business, what is something that you love doing?

I love to fish. Spending time with the family. Fishing gives me solitude. I like to go by myself and think about my next move.

What does success look like for you and your business?

Having financial freedom. Eventually I won’t be doing the labor, I’ll have employees. I want to have all my time to myself so i can go out and share my story while still paying my bills.

Keep up the great work, Kelsey!
